If you want to have an avatar next to your posts and comments then you need to sign up an upload on from here. http://en.gravatar.com/site/login
When you have done this every time your email is used to post a comment or article this image will appear next to it on any gravatar enabled site.
Please note that if you are using internet explorer version 6 then this will not work upgrade now to ie7 or ie8
